Sardines Fob
For our trip to Portugal 2024 we had our fish fob so you too can enjoy a little bit of the colors of Portugal with us.
This fob can be used to hang from a purse, key chain, bead bag or wherever you want it to hang. You can also use these as a tiny tapestry or ornament. Once you have the pattern you can work it up in any color you want. The metal component is approximately 2 1/4’ long and the peyote strip is slightly over 2” long.
This strip is done in even count peyote. You will receive a word and color chart but you must know how to start and stop the even count peyote because you do not receive these instructions with your kit. The peyote strip is zipped on the back side of the fob which is looped over the D ring.. I have found that beading a little looser than normal will help to zip the fob a little more easily since it does fit a little snuggly against the fob.
Our samples were made with 6lb Fireline and a size 10 beading needle. Even though we did not experiment with other thread and/or needles we are confident that substitutions can be made with other beading thread and different size beading needles.
There are six different colors of size 11/0 Delicas used in this design. You can use any colors that you like but we used true Portuguese colors to create our sardines. You will get the color numbers once you download the pattern
